“Warriors at Ease: Healing Strategies for Veterans with PTSD” is the theme of the next “Reel & Meal” film program on Monday, Dec. 21, at the New Deal Cafe in Greenbelt (113 Centerway, in Roosevelt Center). The free screening starts 7 pm after an optional vegan buffet at $14 is served from 6:30 pm.
This film depicts how some veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan learn to cope with their wartime experiences by practicing a form of meditation called “iRest.” It improves sleep, decreases anxiety, lessens chronic pain and helps them manage their emotions.
